Chia seeds are great for your health: they provide added fiber (keeps us full longer and promotes detoxification and regularity); chia seeds help us balance the blood sugar lever, and serve as an excellent source of omega 3-fatty acids. Try incorporating them into your daily diet and you will rip the benefits very quickly. Sprinkle the salad 🥗 with chia seeds; add them to your smoothie or yogurt. I use an easy recipe I stick to for using chia seeds, the overnight chia pudding. Mix chia seeds, almond milk (coconut milk or any other type of milk you like) with spoon of agave nectar (agave is optional); place the mixture in the fridge overnight. Chia seeds will expand overnight and the mixture will turn into pudding. I love to add a few spoons to my yogurt in the morning to keep me fuller longer as well as a spoonful to my toddler’s oatmeal. So lately my emotions have been alittle all over the place when looking at the scale and in the mirror. Fortunately during my current journey I’ve become truly content with not obsessing over the number on the scale. However Lately I’ve been weighing myself more than usual. I wasn’t noticing really any weight loss in about 4 weeks. However in those 4 weeks I cut down on cardio and increased my strength training ! This is just a reminder of how important progression pictures are ! Yes the number on the scale alone doesn’t say I’m losing weight, BUT from my pictures I can see clear sculpting and fat lose. My goal is to thicken and tone which looks like exactly what I’m doing. 😊💪🏽 #noscalevictory #transformationtuesday

All I want for Christmas is huge quads. Decided this was somewhat #transformationtuesday worthy. Left is beginning of August, not long after changing up my training program (and getting serious about lifting heavy and wanting to compete). Right is last night after an equal parts frustrating and satisfying deadlift session. I couldn't get 245 up despite doing it in the past multiple times... This image means a lot because it gives a depiction on my hard work and dedication. I have been vegetarian for six months and I can truly say the experience was great. The problem is I never had a true reason why I was doing it. More so, I wanted to prove that I had control over my mind and I didn’t need anything. People constantly say they cannot imagine living a life without meat and I don’t understand why....I did it and it was an adjustment but I made it happen. I would love to continue the journey but my fitness goals aren’t aligning with the lifestyle. I feel like I gave a great effort to put on muscle as a vegetarian but it just wasn’t happening. I’m not saying it’s not possible, it just wasn’t working for me. So now I’m back to eating animal protein but way more knowledgeable than ever!
