Don't lies eventually lead to the truth? And don't all my stories, true or false, tend toward the same conclusion? Don't they all have the same meaning? So what does it matter whether they are true or false if, in both cases, they are significant of what I have been and what I am? Sometimes it is easier to see clearly into the liar than into the man who tells the truth. Truth, like light, blinds. Falsehood, on the contrary, is a beautiful twilight that enhances every object. . . . . I was thinking about this fragment of Albert Camus, and I felt in a really tragic fact I don’t have many default photos with an smile, even this one is like in the middle. In the other hand I don’t shoot people smiling, they ask me many times why, and I answer in my mind I think is false, but i make an euphemism saying because let’s try to do it authentic. . I don’t know what is happening, but I got realize how many times I was in the twilight , like this photo, with a middle smile, not because I’m a liar, because probably my fear child is still alive inside and without intention to move, and that’s is a beautiful idea. . - - - - #35mm #analogphotography #filmisnotdead #filmphotography #tokyophotographer #japanesestuff #shootfilmmondays #filmcommunity #theanalogclub #iteam_jp #buyfilmnotmegapixels #fujipro #shootfilmstaypoor @onfilm #japan35mm #ig_captures #ig_nihon #igersjp #portraitphotography #analogclub #explorejapan #japan #shootfilmmag #believeinfilm #uncertainmag #visitjapanjp #filmportrait

"The gap inside of me" When I visited my parents, I found this photo. It is from 2000 when I traveled to Vietnam for the first time and met my relatives. This photo is both expressive and beautiful to me in some way. In the photo you can see me (the youngest girl in the retro sandals) with my cousins, uncle, aunt, mother, grandmother and a man who I haven't identified yet. I am a child of Vietnamese immigrants who came to Germany. I've grown up with two different cultures. However, as I have mostly lived in Germany I became unconsciously westernised by society and ignored my Vietnamese background. In the last couple of years I have felt a gap inside of me. I think this gap is due to the isolation and ignorance of my Vietnamese roots. I've never thought consciously or actively about my origin. I've never had real contact with my relatives in Vietnam. I've never had a strong feeling of belonging to Vietnam nor to Germany but it's seems to me that there's a gap between Vietnam and myself. A gap which is like a hole inside of my soul. Therefore, I have decided to travel alone to Vietnam. I will be in Vietnam after 12 years. I want to confront myself with my origin. I don't want to force myself to fill the gap but I would like to see how Vietnam and the encounters with my family effect and influence me. I would like to know, experience and discover Vietnam in an authentic way and come back with at least more knowledge about my relatives like those in the photo which was taken 17 years ago. #vietkieu #vietnamesediaspora
