Random snack that curbed my cravings ! I was about to head to the gym with my brother and didn’t want anything too heavy so I whipped up this concoction to get my going! - @cornthins (my favorite rice cakes) - @thrivemkt creamy peanut butter - slices of a Fiji apple 🍎 — Let’s y’all #carbs - they ain’t your enemy !! The problem people run into when eating carbs is eating too much and not using it fast enough. Carbs can be a great source of energy but that’s only if you’re using it. After having applesauce & cantaloupe, she had shower. But then, she got this messy again😅. . Airplane food! What do you pack when you’re traveling with kids? Nothing makes my kids more STARVING than being on an airplane (although bedtime is a close second 😉). This past weekend, I flew solo for the first time with my three kids (😅#neverdoingthatagain), so I had to go in totally prepared. I have 4 rules for flight food: 1. Non boring 2. Non messy 3. Non sugary (because kids on an airplane without a sugar high are tough enough). 3. Non food-poising-producing if it sits out more than the four hour perishable max. For this trip, I went with: -organic 🍇 , -@motts applesauce pouches, -@kindsnacks sea salt chocolate bars (they only have 5g of sugar), - @earthsbest organic mini blueberry waffles, - @kashi Organic honey o’s cereal -peanuts 🥜. Not pictured: whole 🍎s, 🍌s , and a large ziplock bag to collect allllll the trash. Hope this list comes in handy if you’re traveling for the holidays!

The easy dessert and snack ! I wasn’t a fan of energy bites until I made them. There are so many great recipes online; some of which use dates as a base for there energy bites, others use nuts, and other use just plain natural peanut butter, oats and a sweetener. . . I decided to mash up all the recipes together that a found together and create one that I like and use what I already have in my pantry (Remember the #shopyourpantry motto that I have shares with you before in a previous post? 💁🏻‍♀️) . . . Ingredients: 1/4 cup chia seeds# 1 cup quick oats 1/4 cup shredded coconut 1/4 cup ovaltine powder (you can swap with chocolate protein powder or plain cocoa powder instead but you’ll need to add more sweetener) 1/4 cup maple syrup 1/2 cup natural peanut butter . . . Mix all dry ingredients together then add liquid ingredients and stir well until it’s all incorporated. You can roll it into balls right away, if it falls apart then refrigerate first for a 15 mins then roll it into balls. Once ready, refrigerate in an air tight container. This recipes makes 10 energy bites. 🛑 Snickerdoodle Blondies... 🤤 guys, I don’t wanna toot my own horn, buttt🚂💨💨 @dani_nemeh . Ingredients: 1 cup gluten free flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 6 tbl butter melted, and cooled 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed 1/4 cup coconut sugar 1 egg + 1 egg yolk 2 tsp vanilla Topping: 1 tsp cinnamon 2 tbl coconut sugar Directions: Preheat oven to 350F and line an 8x8in baking pan with parchment paper. In a med bowl, whisk together the gluten free flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar and coconut sugar. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla, until combined. Slowly add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients. Pour batter into pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the batter. Bake for 22-25 min. #foodshare #treatoftheweek #snickerdoodleblondie #snacker #snackideas

I've been trying to come up with new snack ideas for the upcoming holiday party season so I partnered with @andrewandeverett to create this recipe! All you need to do is put little mounds of the shredded cheese on a baking tray covered with parchment paper. Let them bake at 350°F for 5-7 minutes and then once they're cool you have delicious cheese "crackers" to top with whatever you want! Each is enrobed in a thick coating of milk chocolate, which is milky and sweet. The chocolate is crunchy, which contrasts greatly with the dense, smooth peanut butter. 🥜 The peanut butter filling tastes like a natural nutty peanut butter with a little bit of sweetness. It is not as artificially salty or sweet as Reese's peanut butter. The sweet chocolate and mildly salty, nutty peanut butter pair very well together. They are dense and fair in size. RESULTS of Healthy Chocolate Caramel Bars! . . . I'm pretty happy with this! No spike, I think the slight rise is to do with how I used the dual bolus. I did a 50:50 dual bolus (meaning I gave 50% of my bolus straight away and 50% over 2 hrs). I should have given more insulin straight away maybe a 60:40 or a 70:30. Note: I always give my insulin 20 minutes before eating if my insulin is =/>6 to avoid spikes Sorry for long story! The MAIN thing is I've found a great snack that (1) I like with a cup of tea - This is top priority for me 😁 (2) its healthy - you know whats going in and there's no added sugar! and (3) it doesn't raise my BG!!!!!!!!! - I hope! I have only tried them twice. Let's see what tomorrow brings! Third time lucky! Stay tuned!
