Nothing more reassuring when you go for your top set with one of the tallest, strongest and heaviest powerlifters in the gym as your spotter. This allowed me to go for top set of 4 regardless of how all previous reps would have felt. Pause squats 4’s up to 205kg. Top bench triple with 125kg. 5 and and half weeks out - feeling good. @hunsofmsc

Execution Make sure to do 4 sets of each combo COMBO # 1 1️⃣This is a dumbbell variation that includes: Deadlift, back row, shoulder upright row & bicep curl. (4 muscles in just 1 exercise). Perform 10 reps. 2️⃣side jumps with step platform (20 each side) 3️⃣leg circles (ABS) 20 reps COMBO # 2 1️⃣platforms lunges. For this one you want to do a close lunge and move into a wider lunge to equal 1 rep. This workout is brought to you by my potato body. Today I decided to do a #mockmeet of my openers for next week. Turns out the singlet makes me look like a potato...yay. #squat 1x2 @ 300lbs - easy af. I decided to do a second rep as the first one felt high. The second rep felt so freaking easy. I need to remember that 300lbs is no big deal #bench 1 @ 160lbs - super easy - props to @drumtome for the lift off as well as calling the bench cues. I'm going to be honest, I haven't really been practicing comp bench, so even getting 160 as easy as that makes me happy. #deadlift 1 @ 335lbs - not as easy as the other two lifts. I found the singlet restricted my movement. I'm glad I decided to test it out before the meet. Over all, things are feeling good. I'm going yo take it easy for the rest of the week. Do this to improve your squat! 🏋️‍♀️This is such an awesome drill to evaluate yourself.. I see so many people who regularly squat heavy loads yet are unable to do this at all. Tag your squat partner, your Crossfit buddy, or your coach and give this a try!⁣ ⁣ This exercise is great for more than just the erectors! Be mindful of your pelvic tilt and lumbar curve when doing this. You do not want a massive anterior tilt and arched lower back. You also do not want the butt to curl under and the lower back to round while doing this. It’s not that either of those things is bad when done with body weight, it’s just that the idea is to simulate a weighted squat and to be able to maintain your positions throughout the movement as if it were weighted. ⁣ ⁣ This is going to really activate those back muscles to keep you nice and upright- especially if you are allowing the hands to only graze the wall. Do not use them to just push yourself upright. Deadlifts feel so weird. Mainly because they’re still a very complex lift for me. Partly because I have jelly legs. Was supposed to do ten sumo singles/100kg...
