So I did a personal study last night.....because I am a nerd like that! 😎 . My study consisted of 31 people from PA and MD bunkering down for the storm, and who were not in a control group, but all home for the same reason....the snow storm. I found out that these 31 people were doing various things from baking, playing family games, relaxing, taking a bath, napping, watching movies, catching up on snuggle time, or were having an adult beverage. . And guess what I found as a result of this......these 31 people were stressfree, content, relaxed, happy, and feeling at peace in the moment. And guess what else?! Not one negative thought outside of the storm talk creeped into our conversations. . Hmmmm this is not a coincidence my friends. When forced to stop from the craziness of life, we find many of the things we have been searching and praying for. And to some, yesterday brought clarity and answers that their mind was too frantic to think on just the day before. Stillness brought all of that!! Do you ever wonder why when we go on vacation or just sit at the beach we are relaxed? We have made a choice to just stop and BE! Do you see where I am going here? . Everyone is so caught up in who is busier than who but not one person that I spoke to yesterday was unhappy in the stillness. You see, the quieter you become, the more you can hear life. . My friends I think we need to force ourselves to rest more often. Because it's in those quiet still moments that we can completely clear our minds and BE in the moment. Truly be. Without selfies, social media scrolling, or even the feeling that you can't sit down because there is so much to do. All of these I consider to be the noise of life. . I listened and observed people living in the moment. Not comparing their rest day to that of another. Slowly letting go of regrets and worry, and speak of laughter, joy, and feeling relaxed. And our minds were just.....there....relaxed too. And do you know what I did?! I praised God for forcing us to just BE in those moments at home, and finally being able to appreciate those moments within! 💖✌

Life has no purpose. That's the beauty of it, because you can just be. Life doesn't discriminate or expect anything. In this way, life is a blank canvas and you are the artist. You can create any picture you want; life will not judge you. You are free to create a world that is right for you. It takes several key traits to be able to construct the life you envisage. You need to have a vision; a goal you want to achieve. If it is a grand vision, break it down into smaller pieces. There is no substitute for hard work. Working hard and being dedicated are more reliable traits than intellect alone. The final ingredient is tenacity. Never ever give up on what you want to achieve. Along the way, you will fail. You need to fail in order to rise even higher. But embrace failure fully and be appreciative for the experience it provides you. Failure provides an experience that success does not offer. Those traits provide the fundamental basis for what you need to achieve the vision you are after. Each person has their own vision and their own way of doing things. Just remember, there is no right or wrong way, as each of us is unique. So don't compare your performance with someone else. If you don't have a vision or don't care to achieve anything and you happen to live moment by moment, then I trust that each moment will bring you the peace and stillness you deserve 🙏. I would maintain that #thanks are the highest form of thought, and that #gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder. The #weekend was very special .We enjoyed the little things, for one day we may look back and realize they were the big things. #healing takes time, and you walk that path in your own way. Not because someone else told you what healing looks like for them, but because your heart showed you what it feels like for you. This photo is a good few years old, when on one of my many trips to India to embrace ashram stillness 🧘‍♂️ These days with little Maya, pockets of stillness and calm in seated meditation are not so obtainable, but reminding myself to just be present, to sit and observe my greatest teacher is enough, she teaches me to slow down every minute of every day, that there is always time for a smile (even when you don’t sleep ;) and that everything can be seen in a new first time light, if you just choose it to be. Meditation can be in a million formats, for some it’s movement, some it’s art, music or photography- but in each and every form there is a stillness to observe, observe a space inbetween the many fluctuations of the mind, or the natural rest at the end of the exhalation and the beginning of the next inhalation; you just have to slow down enough to look for yours, it comes in many different forms 💚. Practice is called practice for a reason, it’s lifelong; therefore we have to adapt to each and every change and growth that we as a person travels through. Yoga is much more than just on the physical mat, join us for the introduction.
