Throwin it back to last month when I had a legit day to myself & my body was rested enough to hold me in #handstand prep/ #threeleggeddog . . . As an entrepreneur, I dont have paid vacation or days off. If I want my business to flourish I have to dedicate time & effort to making that happen, which means I only get what I put in. Everyday is a balancing act of time, competing responsibilities & energy. The past 4 days (2 of which were clouded by a sinus infection) Ive taught 8 yoga classes to 150+ people, seen therapy clients + doula clients + mom/ friend duties + received a massage that made my entire body ache. I’m physically exhausted & sore from everything.... but if Im honest, I’ve intentionally pushed myself hard this week to stay busy. Tomorrow is a special day, a day Ive been counting down to this entire year. I’ve reminded myself all week that Friday I can melt into my body & heart. Tomorrow I can let go. Tomorrow I can feel whatever is waiting to be felt. . . I acknowledge that waiting till ‘tomorrow’ & pushing my body this hard isn’t sustainable or what my body deserves. In my attempt to ‘push through’ this week I wasn’t being compassionate to myself. Making space to unpack one’s self only when it can be scheduled is an injustice to one’s healing process. But, I don’t feel bad or bothered with how I chose to cope with this week, it was what it was. It’s that simple. It just was & it just is.
