6 days of no sugar, no alcohol, no cheats on my meal plan, in bed by 9pm, up by 5, meditating before bed and taking full control of my choices. Even if it means bringing food with me everywhere I go and eating a whole cucumber in my car. What I’ve realized in 6 short days is how good I am at creating distractions. I didn’t expect so many things to come up. Years of hurt suppressed feelings are coming to the surface and instead of reaching for a glass of wine, snack, guy ( lol ) or remote I’m f e e l i n g it all. Missing people greatly, remembering things I had forgotten, mediating through tears and just trying to do better ya know? Even though it’s Saturday, I woke up early to get my workout in and meal prep for next week because come tomorrow I want to fully rest. No work, no workout, no answering emails. I’m taking my babies outside somewhere to stick our feet in some grass. I hope you all are having a good holiday weekend! Happy Saturday 💛

Remember, any exercise is better than none. We struggle to find time to workout and, at the same time, we can’t afford to not exercises🙆‍♀️ ⠀ All my clients have a busy life and my job is to find how to incorporate that perfect routine they won’t give up because of the luck of time. For those not able to reduce time for other commitments, I usually try to squeeze short bursts of activity. ⠀ Devise a REALISTIC exercise plan for your lifestyle and routine. ⠀ Whatever the day brings, here are some suggestions you can try. ⠀ 🚉Get off the bus one or two stops earlier than usual, and walk the rest of the way. 🕺Organise to have standing or walking meetings instead of sitting down. 👣Take the stairs whenever you can, instead of the lift or escalator. ⠀ Multi-task: ✅While waiting in line, balance on one foot for a few seconds, then the other. Gradually build up the length of time you can balance. ✅While talking on the phone, stand up and do a few leg raises or toe stands to strengthen your legs. ✅While waiting for the kettle to boil, do a few wall push-ups or calf stretches. ✅ When you brush your teeth, do 10 squats. ✅While watching television, do stretches and core exercises, or pedal a stationary bike. Or maybe try to do 20 crunches and 20 push-ups. ✅When walking, do it briskly and include a few hills if you can. ⠀ By making time for activity everyday you’ll be setting yourself up for better long-term health😍 ⠀ #alionalopez

I wanted to quit after 5 days of training. In February 2006 I moved to London and 4 months later started my training to become a certified personal trainer🏋️‍♀️ ⠀ At the beginning it was theory only studying. Every day 8 hours. My English level was a complete beginner. I had this huge Oxford English-Russian Dictionary which I’d constantly be using to translate literary every word. On day 5 we had a quiz and I couldn’t answer any of the questions. Obviously 🙄 I started thinking how silly of me it was to start the course so soon. I should of learned English first. ⠀ Luckily my husband persuaded me to carry on and 6 months later I passed all my exams🎉 ⠀ The course covered all the modules for level 3 PT qualifications. My favourite module was “Designing Training Routines Using Periodization”. Periodization is the process of dividing an annual training plan into specific time blocks, where each block has a particular goal and provides your body with different types of stress. ⠀ I remember feeling overwhelmed any time I was asked to write out a training program for someone. I’d often spend hours writing out a single program, only to decide it wasn’t good enough and start over. ⠀ The last thing I wanted to do was to give someone a program that didn’t work or deliver the results they weren’t expecting. I was convinced that the key to being a great coach was just stuffing my head with as much information about programming as I could. ⠀ Everything is hard at the beginning. But it does get a bit easier with practice. I'm pushing myself to the limits and learn something new from every client. That is the only way to the best personalized training🤗

If you want something you've never had, you have to do things you've never done. Sheila wasn’t really an exercise enthusiast. She is naturally slim, never had any serious health issues and exercising was not on her list to do things. ⠀ However, in her family history there was heart disease which made her realise that even though she might not need to lose weight, she still should consider regular exercise to keep her heart healthy🙏 ⠀ Sheila hired me to have training sessions via Skype and I have to admit it was quite challenging to begin with because Sheila really didn’t like working out. She would do everything in her power to make my job harder. Not on purpose, of course. I hope so, anyway!😊 ⠀ Later she confessed: “I was planning to stop after I’d use all of the 10 sessions I bought.” ⠀ She didn’t stop, she continues to exercise regularly. I make sure she remember why she started in the first place and I’m doing my best to find balance between fun and hard work. ⠀ Since starting regular workout Sheila have noticed an increase in her energy levels and an improvement in the general sense of wellbeing. It also encourages her to eat more healthily.🍏🥦🍵 ⠀ She’s saying her sleep is better and her mood has improved overall. Sometimes she even says that she enjoyed the workout. ⠀ Training a habit of putting efforts into your wellbeing is much more important then simply losing weight. ⠀ Remember about your essential goal. I believe in you 💞
