#sixweeksout - early morning cardiac power intervals are probably the worst way to wake up. Four, ninety second intervals on the treadmill at 22kmh, with a heartrate recovery to 120-130 bpm. To add insult to injury, my @polarglobal heartrate monitor denied me proper readings most of the time. Über die Chaos Bälle rollen? Keine gute Idee 😂 Auch wenn ich am Ende des 3. Hindernisses schon ins Wasser gefallen bin, war es ein hammer cooles Erlebnis 🤩 Ich war noch nie so aufgeregt wie vor dem Start bei Ninja Warrior! Vor dem 5-Sprung hatte ich riesen Respekt. Springen liegt mir garnicht... aber es hat geklappt✔ Auch Hindernis 2 war recht gut machbar ✔ Und dann kamen auch schon die Chaos Bälle. Direkt der 1. Schritt war zu klein, wodurch der Ball ins Rollen gekommen ist. Den 2. Standard Kurs WM 2019: Das Bild sagt alles, England hat sich von seiner besten Seite gezeigt 😂 Es war eine Matschschlacht mit 76 Hindernissen 🤣 Durch Regen und Matsche wurden die Hangelhindernisse super rutschig und ich hab bei Hindernis 33, dem Kingfisher (einer gebogenen Monkey bar über einen kleinen Tümpel) nach wenigen 4-5 Versuchen schon mein Band abgegeben😐 Das Warten vor dem Hindernis hat einen super schnell ausgekühlt und da ich schon nach wenigen Griffen immer wieder abgerutscht bin, habe ich keinen Sinn darin gesehen es so ewig wie sonst zu probieren😅 Dafür hat der Rest der Strecke mit @vanova.ocr und @sophia_ocr umso mehr Spaß gemacht🔥 Nur 11% der Frauen haben mit Band gefinished- Schon krass wie schwierig das Wetter den Parkour machen kann 😮 #ocrwc #ocrwc2019 #worldchampionships #ocrwm #ocr #obstaclecourseracing #obstacles #obstaclerace #mud #muddy #ocrathlete #training #trailrunning #trainforit #carry #teamgermany

The UK Cross Country season starts this weekend. I bleeding love it! Anyone racing on the mud this weekend?⠀ ⠀ Cross country is all about the battle; adrenaline racing, mud flying, limbs tangling - it's incredible! Here's my tips for tackling the mud and hills⠀ ⠀ - Make sure you're warm and ready to go from the off.⠀ I usually jog for 15-20mins, do some dynamic mobility and then run c.2mins at roughly race effort about 15mins before the start. Your body then knows what to expect when the gun goes!⠀ ⠀ - Get yourself out there but hold yourself back a little in the early stages.⠀ I never go to the front of a race early on. I don't worry about position either I know if I am within 10-15 secs of where I want to be I am in a great position to strike. I always, always plan to come through the field after half way- it feels so great to be passing people!⠀ ⠀ - Don't overthink anything - just do it.⠀ Its not that long, and its way better to go for it and make a mistake or two. Be prepared to be decisive. You will need to put in short bursts to overtake, or to go hard to get a position at the corner. One thing with overtaking - don't waltz people, destroy them! Don't give them a chance to think- you are a machine, and they don't have a hope in hell of keeping up with you. Cross Country is about the thrill of the battle not times or positions.⠀ ⠀ - Don't run up hills- run off the top of them.⠀ Everyone thinks they should push it up the hill but why? You can never make much ground on a climb, but you can make loads if you hit people when they least expect it. Running downhills is really important too - you can make huge gains by working past people downhill- lean down the hill and let your legs take you.⠀ ⠀ Get out there!

This time last year I was tired. I was tired of feeling like I had no specific goals in the gym. Feeling like I was a hamster on a wheel just going and going...and for what? I wanted to be my best self, I wanted to have that endurance. I was doing a shit ton of cardio, eating enough to keep myself going. But still felt like I was in a rut. So...I decided to make a change. Fuck.. that's the scariest thing for me...CHANGE. Why? Because I have no idea if it will be beneficial to me or make me a fat lazy blob. But...I was tired of being that hamster on the wheel. So, I decided to change my mindset, challenge my anxieties, and put all of my faith and trust into a complete stranger. I wanted to train for a bodybuilding competition. I knew that my goals would be more set and I knew that it would be a completely different mindset. It was a step outside of my comfort zone. Fuck that.. IT was a LEAP. But I did it. I FUCKING DID IT. Against all of my anxieties. You can do what you put your mind to, guys.
