📍Pier 18, Built in the early 1900s by the Reading Railroad was part of the Port Richmond Complex. Pier 18 was the primary transfer point for anthracite coal between Pennsylvania's coal fields and the international market. The pier had two tracks and was once equipped with a large side car dumper. The coal dumper could unload one 55-70 ton car every two minutes. By the mid 70s the Reading Railroad would be one of many railroads that would merge into Conrail. Conrail would later abandoned the yard in 1990s. . #otgrid #offthegrid #abandoned #abandonedplaces #abandonedworld #itsabandoned #beautiful #art #friends #nature #travel #amazing #photography #urbanexploration #bandorebelz #urbanexplorer #urbanphotography #exploretocreate #getlost #abandonednj #exploring #urbanx #exploretocreate#raw_abandoned #graffiti #railroad #trains #coal

Today was probably one of the toughest and most challenging days I had to go through in my 7 years of working (and I’ve had my fair share..). But through the challenges and hardships, I managed to come through, hold my own and outdo every single performance I had thus far and prove how far my capabilities can reach. And I’m not even done yet. So despite it all, I can’t help to feel just that tiny bit more proud, strong and fulfilled. #bringonyourtoughestchallenge 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 One more day of meetings in India and then off to Vietnam! And yes still #allworknoplay

Autumn in a former USSR nuclear missile base. Cold War era. I usually try to avoid inappropriate content, but this time I just have to spit it out. Not far from the bunker we found there was a small water reservoir. You had to climb a little hill and there was a concrete-based construction with a well on top. It's quite deep in there, we tried to measure depth with a tree branch and it was over 2m. The smell was awful. My man thought it was a great idea to "fish" around the well with a branch, because he noticed some strange looking object. Our "find" was slowly moving to the light from the shadows and first it appeared like a - pardon snowflake millenials - pink rotten human arm, with distinct shapes of elbow, wrist, finger fragments. We thought "great, what do we do now". However, the object suddenly rolled around and a smile of a poor ol' fox appeared in the water. Oh, the relief. This "find" just proves how important it is to watch your step in such places. If you manage to fall into somewhere, it might take a while for someone to find you. No visual content of the fox, sorry. Keleriškiai Nuclear Warhead Storage Base or 477th ПРТБ (подвижная ремонтно-техническая база). USSR military object, Cold War era. It's funny how such facilities were being referred to as mobile technical bases. Nuclear weapons? Never heard of them... There are only 2 such places in Lithuania. This particular one had to serve 6 nuclear missile bases, while another one served 3. The main building of the base (picture 2) was the actual nuclear warhead storage, hiding inside 70m tall hill. It had to ensure the best possible conditions for the weapon - constant temperature and moisture, thus the building possessed it's own conditioner, multiple electricity generators and advanced ventilation system. Inside there was a massive technical and administration section, 4 large storage rooms, main hall. The vehicular entrance was secured by multiple iron-reinforced-concrete hermetic doors, with a diameter of approximately 1m each (picture 4). The personell double doors were smaller and bent (picture 3). The purpose of such doors was to withhold the explosion in case something went wrong. The base also contained 2 missile hangars, administration and technical/mechanical section with garages. Railway system was installed in the entire perimeter of the base for more efficient transportation of the weapon. The perimeter entrance was secured by checkpoint buildings - КПП (picture 10) and triple fence (motion sensors, electric current etc.). If you read my previous articles, you might remember that each missile base contained it's own warhead storage facility. However, it was smaller than this one and housed only limited amount of weapon (just enough for the first launch). In case the nuclear war began, such bases had to be supplied by the two warhead storage bases. . . . . . . . . . #urbexlithuania #militarytourism #urbex #urbanexploration #darktourism #abandoned #military #history #nuclear #заброшенное #urbexworld #urbanart #urbexpeople #lostplaces #urbandecay #lithuaniangirl #urbanphotography #adventure #urbanexplorer #radioactive #apleista #abandonedplaces #color #autumn #nature #travel #roadtrip #бункер #прогулка #поехали
