PANELLE RECIPE So a couple of days ago I got shown this Sicilian street food Panelle! Decided to give it ago! Traditionally served in a roll with ricotta and parmesan, I've just topped with hummus and rocket! Was delicious! Whisk 1 part gram flour to 2 parts cold water, salt pepper. Whisk over medium heat until cooked out and thick, add chopped parsley, spread about 1/2cm thick on a tray and set in fridge. Remove and cut into squares. Deep fry until golden and crispy. Let’s talk about protein for a minute. 🤭 . Protein is used for fighting infection, carrying oxygen, growth and repair and gives our bodies structure as part of our muscles & bones. . The Harvard University research in the 1950s showed that protein intakes of both lacto-ovo vegetarians & vegans meet & exceed recommended intakes. Since then, studies in Canada, US, Australia, Britain, & various parts of Europe have determined that vegetarian diets provide more than enough protein. . You have to understand that in order to get adequate nutrition you must eat “Whole-Foods” though. Examples of insufficient dietary protein (and iron & zinc) occur with the fries & granola bars vegetarians or the ones that live on pasta & bagels. . Do vegans get enough “PROTEIN”? 👉The simple answer is yes. Plant foods can provide all the essential amino acids. Even for non-vegetarians, plant protein provides at least 1/2 the recommended protein intake. . Protein Sources: 👉beans, lentils, chickpeas, tofu, nuts, seeds(hemp, chia, flax, pumpkin), buckwheat, quinoa, wild blue-green algae, spirulina, goji berries, & good quality protein powders. @vivolife @gardenoflife @northcoastnaturals . Vegans need to worry more about their levels of vitamin D, B12, & omegas than they do protein. . . . Happily celebrating my 1 year anniversary of being vegan. I never knew how much joy and excitement transitioning to veganism would bring me. Y’all.. I finally made a salad I actually want to eat. 😁 It’s so yummy and so good for you. I made it with carrots, radishes, mandarins, wonton strips, sliced almonds, edamame, quinoa, and spring mix. I used a ginger and sesame dressing, but there’s so many dressings that would go good with this.🤤🥕🥗🍊
