We tried out this vegan béarnaise sauce from Veggie Bel that we got from @confiseriejonas. We wanted to pair it with a classic: seitan steak with french fries and added some cherries for a little twist. Our thoughts: obviously you can’t compare storebought sauces to homemade, so we kept the jar of ‘Devos Lemmens’ in the back of our minds. First of, let us say that this one looks a lot more green than usual, not really inviting, but our biggest remark is the grease. Obviously béarnaise has a lot of fat, but the sauce looks and tasted quite greasy. You do get a hint of tarragon in there, but we missed the zing to break with the grease. It just doesn’t have that much of a taste. We are super disappointed because this was something we were really looking forward to. Have you tried it already? And what were your thoughts? We need dramatic reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions. According to a new study, most of the planet’s land-based ecosystems - from its forests and grasslands to the deserts and tundra - are at high risk of “major transformation” due to climate change. - If nothing is done to rein in heat-trapping greenhouse-gas emissions, vegetation changes across our planet’s wild landscapes will likely be more far-reaching and disruptive than earlier studies suggested. - One of the greatest indirect greenhouse gas emitters amongst the food industry is the production of red meat from cattle. If humanitarian arguments regarding the livestock industry are set aside, studies have shown that compared to chicken and pork, the farming of cattle uses 28 times more land and 11 times more water. - After the release of the latest IPCC report, eating more plantbased is one of the ways we can help reduce our own personal carbon footprint. This is not the whole solution to our environmental problem, far from it, but it is a step in the right direction. Would you consider eating more plantbased for our planet? 💙

Worth a try. @Regran_ed from @playitisvegan - Protein Buddha Bowl 💪🏻 from @wearesovegan - This recipe makes 2 bowls: --------------Ingredients--------------- 1/2 cup uncooked quinoa 1 x 400g tinned black beans 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp chilli powder 250 g firm tofu 1/2 cup pickled red cabbage 1 red pepper (julienned) 1/2 cucumber (julienned) handful of coriander (chopped) 1 avocado (sliced) chilli sauce (for serving) 1 lime (for serving) For the marinade 1 tbsp soya sauce 1 tbsp lime juice 1 tbsp sesame oil 2 tsp maple syrup 1 tsp chilli sauce 2 tsp peanut butter --------------Method--------------- 1. Preheat the oven to 200°C or 390°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper. 2. Remove the tofu from the packaging and gently press it to remove any excess water. Place the tofu on a chopping board and slice it into 1” cubes. 3. Combine the marinade ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl. Then add the tofu, toss the cubes in the marinade to coat and set to one side. 4. Meanwhile add the quinoa to a saucepan with 1 cup of water. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 40 minutes or until soft. 5. Place the tofu cubes on the pre-lined baking tray and bake for 25 minutes. 6. Remove the tofu from the oven and add the black beans to the baking tray. Season the beans with chilli powder, paprika and garlic powder, then bake for another 5 minutes with the tofu. 7. Remove the tofu and beans from the oven and set to one side. 8. Start assembling your bowls by adding half of the tofu, quinoa, beans, red cabbage, red pepper and cucumber. 9. - I'm so excited about the shops filling up with vegan ice-cream. Ingredients: Coconut and Madagascan Vanilla, Almond Salted Caramel ice-cream, forest fruit, carob syrup, pure melted chocolate, chopped hazelnuts I haven't been able to eat ice cream due to a lactose intolerance often getting very ill if i tried to eat it. But we all remember sunny days as children eating a double scoop ice-cream with a great big flake and red sauce. It always came with a cost, hale plant-based milk. Plant-based milk are the perfect solution! I dont eat treats often but once a month a little treat is a nice option if it is available. Everybody started at ZERO ✨✨ I know many people who look up to other and compare themselves with them in a completely unnatural way. They see a celebrity and want to be like them or hate them for their success. And I don‘t really get this hate neither the sad feeling about not having their life. Because 1. Everybody started at zero. Most of the ‚successful‘ people made something out of nothing. They were working like crazy to get to the point where they are now so if you have a dream: Do it! . your dream. Look at their documentaries and see that all of that doesn‘t come . doing nothing you know. Quick success for a future will not work. You got to built something.
