The answer I give when I’m asked why I had #weightloss surgery and how I have lost 107lbs so far....

This might be the case in England but the situation is very similar here in Australia. My physical health has taken a massive hit in the last month and I have been desperately looking for inpatient help. Since I have multiple diagnoses and am also in need of medical management and physical therapy I can’t access the help I need. I am lucky in that I have been able to see a psychiatrist and psychologist privately (although not often enough as it is super expensive) but unfortunately I am still struggling with the illness and at present require much more intensive support. The only option available to me in a few months is a weight gain centred admission despite the fact my weight is quite normal. The fact that I am unable to walk is not important and something I would need to address separately after the admission. Yes I am sure being bed bound for 6 weeks is going to help me having any chance of mobilising again. I wish we had access to a help with a holistic approach that focused on improving quality of life and functioning rather than just weight gain. A healthy weight is absolutely desirable for a full recovery but not everyone gets there. I have been there many times and am likely to still be within a healthy weight range but it has never improved my mental health. Hello again 🍃 My #lunch was this toastie-ish kinda thing. One (large) piece of flatbread with lots of Gouda cheese, bell pepper, and a bit of beef! I really enjoyed all the melted cheese 😋 I got my hair cut today! That was fun. It’s quite a bit shorter now, but at least the ends are no longer super thin. I also went to school, to give back my books and all that jazz. It messed up my lunch time which wasn’t great, but I managed. It did make me realise that I really will not miss school. At all. Training on my own and usually at 6am it’s hard to go heavy and have no one to spot, today was a midday session, had a spot so I tried 40kg (90lb ish) on dumbbell press, repped it for 8, 7 unassisted. Then tried 42.5 (95lb ish), got 2. WEIGHT LOSS UPDATE • • At a point where losing is HARD. Between moving in with Alex, figuring out a new routine, and adjusting to a new work schedule, I was also experiencing a plateau in weight loss. I wasn’t gaining weight, but I wasn’t losing either and it was very defeating. I was weighing myself every day and beating up myself when I saw it fluctuate (even though I know this is completely normal, and weighing every day is not realistic). I decided that I needed to step up my workouts and be more strict with my eating, so I decided to take the leap and make this page to help hold myself more accountable. I weighed in today and I’m down -2lbs this week. Although it’s small, it feels so good to see it after I kicked my ass at the gym this week. Took the picture on the left back in December/January, and the right was today. Changes are small but needed to remind myself that the scale is just a number, and to keep doing what I’m doing. Slow and steady wins the race.
