This is the last in my series of pictures around my Big Me Up Retreat this year. One of the things I love to do is collaborate with others and open up new ideas and possibilities. . Paula Denvir @pilatesyogawellness delivered mindful yoga to the group in the mornings and also delivered the delicious healthy breakfasts and lunches. As a member of The Dream Life Academy I wanted her there so the others could see how to create their own retreats for their audience and to talk to her one on one. . Leanne @leanne.hennessey.hypnotherapy was there to help them with overwhelm and anxiety using group hypnotherapy. A lot of people in the room already knew a lot about the subject and using mindset but she opened up theirs way of thinking even more and took them on a journey that has to be experienced to see how powerful it can be. They came away with tools they can use forever now and quell sone of those unwelcome feelings we get when it all gets too much. . Look at me looking like Super Mario lol- On a serious note! Most people don’t know this, but I suffer from mild depression because of the traumatic events that has taken place in my life as a child and I’m JUST now feeling like I’m JUST now beginning to understand myself. It turned out that I was not 95% of what I thought I was. People constantly ask me how I got to this place in my life and honestly it all began when I gave in. What I mean by giving in is that one day I woke up and I no longer had it in me to keep pretending, covering my emotions and trying to live up to societies standards. I just quit, and it wasn’t pretty when it happened…more hell broke loose because as I walked away from everything... I lost a few relationships, racked up some debt, dropped out of school and had to face the unpleasant TRUTHS about myself. BUT, babyyyyyyyy it has all been worth it. I never knew that little ol me had ALL of “THIS” to offer the world and I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t let go. The truth is that I am still figuring things out, but the KEY is that I have an understanding…I’m not as confused, naive, vulnerable, lost and powerless as I use to be. I’ve learned to ACCEPT me…I know how my mind and body works…I know what triggers me to go the FUCK off…I know what nurtures me…I can hear messages from my intuition clearly. Often we are afraid to let go of things in our lives that we may be HAPPY with but which are not FULFILLING US in fear of being without…BUT, it is when we let go and TRUST that life will provide what we really need is when we EVOLVE. Start A Habit 20/52 Self Care - Reading 📖 & Learning Old school reading 📖 actual books📚 Learning for the growth of it. Or pausing to see/ seek/ find the lesson in life! 👌🏼🎈 My habit is a book a month 📚 It ebs and flows through the year - and by the years end I’m at/ over or close to the dozen. With all the content I’ve written this year - the reading 📖 has really slipped. But, I’ve got two week long ‘time outs’ (attending professional development workshops = more and new learning🙌🏼) And with extended time away I know that I can and will most likely catch it up... with out too much pressure on myself. Learning is what I would put down as one of my hobbies. A “study-aholic” or “study- nerd”🤓 as I’ve been know to call myself. So my learning (or growth) is at least three workshops a year. Some just one or two days, others, week long! My last holiday in 2011 prior to Phoenix coming along 2012 was a 6 week trip across the USA 🇺🇸 & Canada 🇨🇦 doing workshops every weekend and touristing/ travelling in between! 🤪😍 Always something new to discover - current knowledge to deepen and other people’s wisdom to enjoy 😉 The aim of both my learning 🤓 & reading 📖 is to both broaden and deepen my knowledge and also take in new ideas 💡 and make my life (= my “work”) more effective and efficient. To bring my patients and clients the most effective and potent therapy 🙏🏼👌🏼and share my learning to speed up/ short cut someone else’s learning.🙌🏼🎈 Oh yeah, my monthly list doesn’t include articles and work related reading👍🏼
