This year, I’ve really been working on finding a balance when it comes to working out and fitness. Believe it or not, there really is more to life than the gym! SHOCKER, I know 🙃😅 I’m proud of myself for working on prioritizing other things over working out. But I also know fitness will ALWAYS be a part of my life. I’m also thankful to have awesome people in my life who know and understand how important fitness is to me. My friends and family are always asking me “when’s your next race?” #lol it’s tomorrow 😂 Being healthy is important - for everyone. But so is drinking good beer, building lasting relationships, building a solid career, and eating all the pizza. And that’s where balance comes in. You CAN have your cake & eat it too - just don’t eat the whole frickin’ thing 😉 I honestly don’t even know if this post made sense but in conclusion, HAPPY WEEKEND!! 🏋🏽‍♀️ . Another throwback cos I’m too fat to even contemplate wearing anything that resembles a sports bra #whatareabs This video was taken 9 days out from the @saxon_gym classic where I placed third. . It’s always difficult coming away from a result like that. After busting your balls for 26 weeks and being in the best shape of your life, motivation can dwindle especially as your shreds disappear. However, I’m pushing really hard to build on this year and achieve bigger and better things next year. . 2019 will be my third year competing and each show is a lesson learnt and foundations to build on. . Bodybuilding really has changed my life. I love the journey, the process, the mental challenge. Most people fall short on prep because of their mental strength. It pushes your mind to the limit and tests every aspect of your body. But I wouldn’t change it. Through bodybuilding I’ve met some amazing people. I found my soulmate @daveyoung_personaltraining, one of the most passionate people in this sport and my inspiration every day. . I’ve seen beautiful women flourish. To name a few: 💃🏽@dejdawson fall in love with the sport and is going on to the British finals from her first comp. 💃🏽@fayequinn87 having weekly meltdowns then completely transform into a butterfly on stage. 💃🏽@klhusk amazing transformation shows that anything is possible. 💃🏽@jadefitmum_pt who is literally just a queen and manages to smash every single prep and be a mum and businesswoman. 💃🏽@emmahyndman_theposingpro who was the first real bodybuilder I saw at NABBA way back in 2015, who has taught me if at first you don’t succeed then work and work until you become world champion. . I find daily motivation in the endless women and men that go through this process. Goodness, the standard is ridiculous and there are some incredible girls and guys out there. The list is endless and the graft and grind and work ethic is phenomenal. . It might be the comp season that’s made me feel all reflective and mushy or maybe it’s the migraine tablets/ OD on paracetamol/ inhalation of printer ink and chlorine🤷🏽‍♀️ Who cares, I LOVE THIS GAME. . #bodybuilding #prep #femalebodybuilder #inspiration #fitness #gym #fitspo

What does fitness mean to you? 🏃🏻‍♀️ - If you’ve ever done what I’m doing here in this picture, please finish reading this caption. 👇🏼 - I cannot tell you how many people I’ve followed on social media over the years. ✖️ - People who only posted photos of themselves in great shape, suggesting that “You can do it too!” with no explanation of HOW. 🤷🏻‍♀️ - Posts that can make you feel so behind in your journey when in actuality, you’re exactly where you need to be. 🏃🏻‍♀️ - I’m writing this so you can think about changing your perspective. ✔️ - I’m asking you to focus on the work. 🙌🏼 - Focus on making better food choices. 🙌🏼 - Focus on executing a structured workout program. 🙌🏼 - Focus on having a support group. 🙌🏼 - Focus on YOURSELF. Your goals. 🙌🏼 - Because when you do that, the focus becomes your journey. It becomes the actions you take to get to your goals. 💪🏼 - And the LAST thing your focus is on, is that ab check in the mirror in the morning, after you eat, or before you go out at night for validation that you’re starting to look like that person on Instagram. ✖️ - I encourage you to enjoy the journey. Charged up and challenged my core with movement patterns slightly similar to yoga, but difficult to do on the mat or even with a towel. The feel of the frictionless movement on the reformer opens up the possibilities to rewire movements in a safe and efficient way. Long time no fitness posts 😵 . . . I have been LIVING. Dealing with so many changes (hello new job and goodbye boyfriend)... there has been so much to celebrate and so many life events going on... the old strict me would have said no to all of it to go lift or because I was out of macros for the day. . . The biggest lesson I’ve learned this last month is that I can have my cake and eat it too. I can make it to the gym and go drink that bottle of wine with my girlfriends. You only get one life, make it count and enjoy the time you have with the people you love. I’ve been tracking macros for basically two years straight and it’s taught me so much, but I have to remember I can live life and let go once in awhile. (Tracked so long I basically know macros for everything now 😂)... . . I just had a personal/physical victory and fit in a damn SIZE 2!!! after not tracking, drinking my wine, eating my pizza.... WUT. I’m shook. I’m thankful for what I’ve done to get here, but I’m also thankful for the lessons learned in every season of life so far. Life’s too short to be worried about getting a six pack and being sad that you’re bloated. Anyway... there’s my update.
