I’ve been disappointed in the scale lately, but working towards making sure that I’m feeling good, eating a few more quality calories, limiting animal proteins (meat) to 3-4 times per month, listening to my body and pushing hard in workouts when it says to, pulling back a little when it doesn’t... I had an InBody test this morning. Comparing it to the last test I had 6 weeks ago I’ve only lost 5 lbs. But if you break it down, I’ve lost 8.1 lbs of fat and gained 3.1 lbs of lean body mass. This is a really big deal. This is the most progress I’ve seen in this short a time for fat loss/muscle gain. And because of that change, my basal metabolic rate—how many calories I burn in a day basically doing nothing—has gone up. Counting calories has been integral to my success this far. But now I’m getting to the point where I can better “hear” my body’s cues for when to eat and when to stop... when to train hard and when to take it easy... Our bodies are divinely engineered, God wrote into our DNA everything we need to be healthy. I’ve used every excuse you can think of to eat on a calorie surplus, and I have always thought that it’s JUST 1 day so it won’t hurt. Truth is, every day of the year is JUST 1 day. That is 365 excuses to not make progress towards your goal. If you are not being consistent 80% of the time then DO NOT expect results. They will not come!! You need to to focus on the 1 day that you choose to no longer pick the excuses over your goal. Enjoy events, but don’t allow them to dent your progress. It's not always easy to fit it in, it's not always easy to make yourself do it. it doesn't matter how good you'll feel afterwards, it is one of the hardest things to do to push through the negative to get to the reward. But self care, self-preservation is so fucking important. So when you find what it is, you have got to do it. maybe it's reading a book for an hour. Maybe it's going for a walk. Maybe it's listening to a podcast or a specific type of music. Maybe it's watching TV on the couch. Or maybe it's obstacle course training your kitten. Maybe it's sweating your ass off doing a workout even if it's been a long ass fucking day, and it's after 10:00 at night. But you have got to get off your butt and do it. Just some motivation for those who need help pushing through this week like myself: Pretty much the only reason I go to the gym is to be a jabronie, take godly selfies after a dirty pump and well...lift duhh sike but seriously I love to go in and get a good lift, especially today. Meeting a fellow lifter and his wife(I think, not sure🤔🤷‍♀️) who love powerlifting and lifting in general. Helped get me hyped as fuck to finish off strong today. It's not always about how strong u are or how much u can do something, it's about bettering yourself into someone everyone else is jealous of. Cuz if they're jealous, doesnt that mean what u are doing is working?(ehh maybe lol) I feel it's true because I'm busting my ass off to better myself and those around me who are as hungry as me.
