For those new to diet and exercise, this question gets asked all the time. “What should I eat after my workout?” So here are a few simple ideas if you have time to prepare or if you you’re in a rush. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Protein Shake & Banana • Grilled Chicken Salad • Salmon Brown Rice • Greek Yogurt & Fruits • Orange & Almonds ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The trend is to get in your protein and carbs. This is a great time to replenish your energy levels as your body can absorb food very well after a workout. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The amount you eat will depend on what your goal is. Keep in mind that you may feel hungrier than you actually are so make sure that you keep that in mind if you’re trying to lose weight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There is no rush to get your food in after your workout. Your gains will not be lost if you wait over 30 minutes. You’ll probably be hungry though but make sure to eat within an hour. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Any other simple post-workout meal ideas you want to share? {#meatlessmonday} AND day 1 of my 10 day pre-Thanksgiving cleanse. The main goal is to give my system a break. Lots healthy whole foods, lots of water and sleep, and cutting out caffeine, sugar, alcohol, and common allergens like soy, gluten, dairy, corn, and peanuts. Day 1 is over and I have to confess that I have a nasty headache, but that could be the smoke. Stay tuned for more the next 9 days!

Hero WOD for this lovely Monday! I haven’t done a CrossFit class in what seems like forever, but I was super excited for this one! I had to do it solo, and though I didn’t get as many rounds as I would have liked, I think I did pretty good, all things considered. By the end I was covered in sweat and chalk, which is exactly how I like it! The kettlebell swings are where I got a little fatigued, but I am so glad I participated tonight! I missed my people at @lane5crossfit and missed the community feel! It felt good to get back to high intensity work!💪🏻 A great workout to start my week!

I’m wicked excited to compare how my back width looks now to when I’m going to be at a much lower body fat percentage. You see yourself every day which makes it hard to see the small changes that occur every week. We are taking weekly progress pics in the same place each time so it’s gonna be such a dope transformational visual. Also, peep those fresh squat bar marks lol

Try to motivate and be motivated by things that are important to you. If you offer a skydiving freebie to a homeless guy, he will not consider it a reward, because what he needs is a shelter and clean clothes. Motivation has to be done with relevant rewards for those targeted!
