β€ͺwild thing. beautiful thing. rendered-black-and-white thing. i don't know what plant species this one is exactly but i really loved it as a worthy subject. do let me know if you've any idea about the plant, for i'm not sure whether or not it's some distant cousin of Catalpa. 🌱 . . . | Bangalore outskirts '12 |‬ β€ͺ.‬ β€ͺ.‬ β€ͺ.‬ β€ͺ#nature #closeup #wild #species #fineart #botany #monotone‬

an adult Oriental Rat Snake (Ptyas mucosa) that couldn't be saved. poor thing was mistaken for a cobra and killed by the inhabitants of a farming village (an irony, given how beneficial this shy, non-venomous snake is for them farmers actually.) it's really sad when people do not know the animal/plant species in their own localities, nor understand the important role each species plays in the interest of a healthy environment. Rat Snakes, with their imposing size, speed and semi-arboreal capabilities, are one of the most-efficient natural pest-controllers and a beauty to behold. they prey upon farm rats mostly, and when you know just how big, rotund and voracious the wild rats in Deccan plateau can get, you can't help but really appreciate the silent, unwittingly great service this snake species is rendering to the farming community here. plus, Rat Snakes are extremely timid around humans and will immediately try to get away from them as fast as possible. even when cornered, their first instinct is to emit a kind of guttural growl (something it picked from King Cobras', hoping to 'bluff' the potential threats but which merely adds to the misunderstanding when the threat happens to be an uninformed human being) as warning instead of lashing out to bite headlong. for those who don't know, Oriental Rat Snakes are also extensively hunted for their skin and meat, mostly in tribal areas throughout Asia. this one, too, like the countless others, was a victim of sheer ignorance. rest in peace! πŸ™πŸ» . . . | rural Karnataka 2012 | . . . #requiem for a #ratsnake #environmental #stories #karnataka #canon #tamron

met an elusive Bark Mantis (Humbertiella Ceylonica) right outside my main door today. the clip looks like a still shot owing to the apparent motionlessness of the camera as well as the subject but it's not (focus on the critter's belly region and you'll realise it's breathing.) Bark Mantises, given their capacity for camouflage and smooth hunting, are the veritable ninjas of their habitat. they rock! happy World Environment Day 2018! . . . | lumia 1020 vid | Bangalore 2018 | . . . #rubaru #barkmantis #nokia #lumia #film #worldenvironmentday #peace

while photographing this pic, a dead mayfly's stray wing somehow ending up floating on a blue drum's stale water, i suddenly remembered Matsuo Basho, one of my favourite poets from the east. oh, had he been the one to see this tiny wing instead of me, he surely would have immortalized the moment with a spontaneous yet powerful haiku, inspiring a million souls in the days to come! but i, an ordinary man monkeying around with a camera, can do only one thing: take a pic and post it on instagram haha. it's in moments like these you wish there were more enlightened poets of few words in this world than those lame shutterbugs who post their pic(s) with a longass caption like the one you're just reading πŸ˜„ y'all have a great evening! ✌️ . . . | Bangalore 2015 | . . . #wing #afloat #rip #mayfly #canon #mirrorless #art

. no matter what authorities of the so-called organised religions say, consciousness, i absolutely believe, is an eternal flower that never wilts beyond redemption. can never wilt beyond redemption. the possibility of redemption is never, ever nil regardless of how allegedly lost or fallen an individual consciousness is. fear, doubt and hatred might render it temporary setbacks but that's just about it, temporary. consciousness can always take the untold brunt of brutal existence, shake 'em off, recover and revert back to it's gloriously infinite, supremely beautiful and originally fresh self. and all on it's own, being so one with the Cosmos actually. each one of us is a perfect seed of living, breathing, every-moment divinity meant for the ultimate flowering. each one of us is a constellation blue-print spinning towards our greatest inheritance re-membered. we're all veritable Gods & Goddesses in flesh n' blood, waiting to aweaken. the so-called eternal damnation is the greatest lie there ever was, is or will be. call it naive or call me heretic but in my heart of hearts, there's not an iota of doubt about it. _/|\_ . ∞ . - artforheart'ssake bangalore 2013 . . . . . . #inner #yoga #musings from #seed to #flowering #consciousness #peace
