What a blessing when you find out it isn’t just you going through these issues with Endometriosis and the complications that come with it. It still baffles my mind there are so many of us but we are in it together. I can’t tell you the times the sentences I posted were said to me. Decades. Yes, decades. And I’m not only speaking of my Endometriosis late diagnosis and missed diagnosis for years, but the possible complications from it and perhaps unrelated issues I had as a female patient. One I will mention which embarrassed me for years and as I get older, thankfully with age comes the: “fuck it list” because we get more honest, less embarrassed and for me I hope to help the younger women out there. My hair. I was put on medication in my 20’s to help treat an illness I NEVER had! Yes that’s right, instead of the endo. And it contributed to hair loss from age 24-26. I lost 50% of my hair and it never came back and continued to fall out and break from some bad genes (yes) but autoimmune issues not being addressed: endo and hashimoto that I know of. I’m somewhat at peace with it now and grateful to some extent hair extensions and wigs are in 😂 ...but a women asking a doctor to please treat the hair falling out in clumps and asking if it’s related to meds only to be told: no that wouldn’t happen...I call bullshit. And so did the CPS and drug companies abroad - 10 years later. So listen to us please. We aren’t making shit up for attention. This stuff happens and has validation with or without a penis. Are we not past this yet!? I hear you, ladies. 💛💛💛 • • • • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #hashimotosdisease #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #voicesinnumbers #cbdoil #naturalremedies #hairloss

Preaching’ 😂 to myself and others. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends for weeks and I’m feeling it ...and I’ve hinted awhile back about some of the details but I continue to be somewhat cryptic with my messages 👀 ...I am still ironing out the fine details and CAN NOT WAIT to share but it’s not quite time yet. One thing about #myendostory is that I seem to be either really good or really bad and finding the energy balance in between is (shall we say) challenging. Does anyone else feel like this? I am continuing to work on what balance is going to mean for me day to day, month to month, year to year. It will change as life does but I promise to never let endo and the autoimmune fun that is hashimoto stop me. It may slow me down or temporarily stop some of us ...but Our Spirit Is Stronger Than Endo 😘💛💛💛 I hope you keep following my account for some exciting new info I will be sharing in the coming months... • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #hashimotosdisease #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #weekendvibes #cbdoil #naturalremedies

#shoutout to @chronically_successful and if you aren’t following you should. 😊 . When I first found this online community for endometriosis I received so much comfort in knowing it wasn’t just me going through this frustration related to the physical pain from the disease but also the battle to get proper care and all that goes with that. The mental health factor connected to chronic physical pain can come at you in many different ways throughout the understanding, acceptance and fight with this jerk of a disease. (And the side issues and complications from it). I really do see hope in the stigma of mental health wellness lifting with more people talking publicly and not being afraid to admit their truth. You don’t have to shout it out if you don’t want to, there is a lot to say for privacy and discretion and certainly not all has to be shared online but there truly are safe places to read, vent and share. Nobody has to ever feel ashamed or embarrassed by their struggle. I can promise you the tide turns, things shift and lift. Sometimes they recycle and come back to revisit you and that’s a shit storm in lost faith, but again it will shift. Hills and valleys, this life. Happy Monday. 💛 • • • • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #hashimotosdisease #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #mondaymotivation #cbdoil

Brilliant and so well said. Zoom in and read. I saw this from @hilaryduff And she mentions she has a body that does what she needs it to do. A lot of us don’t. But (and I hate this saying especially when I’m in such pain from endometriosis or a hashimoto flare that blind swiped me) it can always be worse I suppose. I still have a hard time swallowing that one because I have had months of very ‘worse’. It’s amazing what a good day can mean to each individual. Today I am grateful. My stomach isn’t perfectly flat because I seem to have some degree of constant bloat no matter how empty or full. It almost always hurts to touch. I have scar tissue that feels like rope under my skin in parts of my abdomen. I have hot pack burn marks on my thighs and lower abs I hope will fade again...but who knows. I am no where near perfect. I keep trying to get closer to: my perfect. But health slams the breaks on me many times in my life. But today, despite flaws I am grateful for being able to get back up and out and live normal, move normal and smile. Take the grateful in each moment, even if you have to squeeze and wince your eyes really hard to see it. There is at least one thing, you’ll see it. ❤️✌🏼. • • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #hashimotosdisease #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #thursdaymotivation #cbdoil

The thing I’ve learned the most from endometriosis is that it steals time and is unpredictable with far too little medical help and often too late in the game for a lot of us. I think it’s slowly changing but that wasn’t my reality. That sounds pessimistic I realize but it’s because it is. I am a firm believer that doing right by your body will help and sometimes resolve flares for a time being. That being said, a specific diet or exercise program doesn’t keep it away forever. I’ve tried them all. That’s where the unpredictability comes in. I am currently at a 3/10 4/10 pain day average right now. That is GOOD for me! Our scale and tolerance levels will all be different. Because of this I’ve decided to take a leap of faith with two projects (one endo related) that are a year behind schedule. That’s what endo does. But I am excited to #announce it is happening. The full how isn’t laid out exactly, but the why and when are. While I am grateful at this time Endometriosis and hashimoto are not a death sentence...I never know for sure how long my good days will be 20+ years trying to understanding this disease. So I am going after what I want trying to stay in love, rather than fear, mindset. I hope you stay tuned 😊💛 • • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #cbdoil #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #wednesdaywisdom

Even if it’s a day where you need to stay low because of pain. Even if it’s a week. Even if it’s longer...but don’t let your mind get muddled. Don’t forget who you are without endometriosis. Need a dose of hope on #humpday? Even the small things you’re doing is a big deal. Not giving up on yourself is a big deal. So...let’s do this and support each other through the bad days but celebrate our victories just the same 💛💛💛💛 . • • • • Repost from @chronically_successful 😊 Shared a great mind map (so to speak) of some of the symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety seems to be on the rise around this time of year and through the holidays along with depression. The pressures of: the family that bonds and gags us 👀 along with so many other factors. Anxieties from not knowing why we feel sick or so tired don’t help. Getting little help from your doctors doesn’t help. Trying to manage a normal day when our bodies won’t let us, creates anxiety in our mind. Try to slow down. Take a breath. Find a song that lets you escape for a few minutes! Dance it out! But breathe. I’m not making light of a full blown panic or anxiety attack. Those suck beyond words. It literally is all in your head, which takes over your body but we can learn to control our minds, I promise. There is peace after the attack. breathe...breathe...breathe...💛 • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #cbdoil #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #youarenotalone #functionalmedicine #canadianhealthfail #positivevibes #womenshealth #mondaymotivation #laparoscopicsurgery #spooniesupport #mentalhealthawareness #thyroidhealing #endometriosis #voicesinnumbers #depressionandanxiety #anxiety

*Edit. From what I’ve been told in my home country and from where I’m ‘allowed’ to get healthcare - because not all resources are created equal without the legwork to get a provincial health card based on where the qualified docs are (or a little more qualified??) I can’t even pay my way in which from a tier system perspective can be argued as good or bad. Whatever is next for me surgically, is a risk, an expense that will take money management and several more months of recovery and worry. So currently, I choose to stay with the familiar pain I know as my options don’t seem so black and white. For so many of us it isn’t and that’s what makes Endometriosis such an extra pain in the ass, ovaries, uterus, rectum...should I go on? 🤔 I’ve decided to make some changes because I’m sick of endo running how things will go with little payoff once they are finally addressed. It’s 7 weeks post-op for me. Some excision surgery that was then stopped as the scar tissue was too advanced for my surgeons. My bowel was fused to my uterus. Explains a lot. Was left in the first surgery 4 years ago. I was disappointed of course and still am after a 13 month wait for this surgery. I am grateful, however, that they did stop and knew their limitations unlike my first surgeon. It’s a horrible feeling to know afterward that something was done wrong in your body. It’s a lot of emotion aside from physical pain and disappointment. So little is still not known about this disease and how to stop and cure it. But we push on. I have learned to trust my instincts and stand strong in my convictions when advocating for my health. Stand with me. Don’t give up on you. 💛. • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #cbdoil #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #mondaymotivation #hormonefree #travelwithchronicillness

Hello everyone! Please don’t give up on yourself even after all the let downs, the mismanagement of your illness and the lack of understanding around it. I believe you. I know the ups and downs of chronic pain and illness - the type of disease that doesn’t care what your plans are - does what she wants when she wants. Trust me! So for anyone needing that little push or reminder I mean it. The last 13 months have been HORRIBLE, medically...I thought I had to give up. But I didn’t even on the days I couldn’t do 💩. It’s OK. You are stronger than the inflammation, the poking and burning and ripping pain inside of you. This is a double edged sword for me. First, fertility is a very big issue for many women and something that is almost assumed will just be a right of passage in adult life. For other women, they may not be sure or even want to have children if given the choice. Regardless, this should not be one of the first questions asked IN ORDER TO decide IF your endometriosis is treated!? It angers me and makes me sick that this kind of ignorance within the medical community exists from said gynecologists. That judgement in our pain should not be associated with if we do or do not want to have children. Two separate issues. 💛. • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #cbdoil #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #saturdayvibes

I can’t tell you the years I kept endo a secret. The events missed, the work around to be able to do normal things in my physical training, (as best I could and I pushed like a motha...!) my school and study days, my work days on film sets, in writing rooms and later classrooms and drama halls that eventually just had to stop. And they would resume whenever the hell Endo decided to give me a break. I tried and hope in some instances I completed these events with tenacity and grace, but certainly not on all occasion. There was a lot of swearing, crying, anger and sadness because at first and for decades no one listened and when they finally did the limitations of medicine were just so, well...limiting. I am a fighter though. And so are you. Endo has taught me that time and again and right now is a current fight to stay a top the mountain, well aware a valley will be around the corner, I just hope it’s not as devastating as the last. Much love, Endo sisters and all chronic health souls out there. 💛 • • • • • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #cbdoil #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #thursdaymotivation #fuckendo #travelwithchronicillness #europetour

The main thing that got me with this statistic from @endostats.org (thank you!) was looking at how much money is given to adult mental health. Take a look and scroll in. That seems like decent numbers yet in my opinion adult mental health still needs so much work and advancement in research because of its complexity. Then you look at the next to nothing amount given to Endometriosis? Just so very wrong. • • #endometriosisawareness #endodiet #antiinflammatory #cbdoil #fibromyalgiaawareness #medicalcannabis #getoutside #thyroidproblems #fitwithendo #endofighter #endosisters #hysterectomy #surgeryrecovery #pelvicpainawareness #10ktraining #hashimoto #anxietyrelief #mentalhealthawareness #chronicillnessawareness #chronicpain #spoonielife #spoonieproblems #excisionsurgery #writersofinsta #booklaunching #endostrong #thursdaymotivation

I’ve been a little less present on here because I’ve been feeling better. What? I know it can happen. If you’ve followed my ups and downs, scares and anger you know it’s been a roller coaster of disappointments, medically. I promise I’m not going anywhere because I have two projects in the works endo related as I promised in my worst days to be an advocate and I will continue to be. You have my word I will share information to all of this as it progresses. As for going to the hospital and getting limited answers unless you are lucky enough to pay for and get to or have an Endometriosis specialist near you, the options are so limited. And in my case may be left to the point it is too late. Repost from @positivelypresent . I’ve actually had some anxiety around not getting enough done in the day. I get frustrated that my pain is less but my energy is still such a struggle. This is a great reminder and I usually tend to deal with the overwhelming feelings by heading outside. I have a long To Do list right now as I try to sort out what my inevitable ‘normal’ is in terms of energy and pain management. Endometriosis a disease I’ve struggled with for decades and while so much of it is familiar and I know what to expect - it still changes. Do you know what I mean? Like you get surprised because you feel better and second guess: for how long? Or it switches to new found sources of pain that takes away activities that were never an issue before. Endo and chronic pain is a constant guessing game and the unknown in any situation causes anxiety. Fight or flight. I’m not talking full blown panic attacks but that underlying unknown. That is chronic illness and her side kick, anxiety. This list is a great reminder. Bookmark it and give it a try!
