Offering myself self care & self love means that even when my day goes rogue, I'm unfazed, not frazzled!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ This self-loving raw vegan plants masterpiece is: - zucchini & yellow squash zoodles, green onions, red & yellow peppers all coated in an amazing basil-lemon pistachio pesto...& chopped grape tomatoes on top! πŸ˜‹ Much of this relative ease is due to not being hungry when plans change unexpectedly.... I like to have several raw vegan options ready for an assembly at any given time in my fridge. I often suggest to clients to keep a mood journal - specific to their relationships with people in their lives - as they are healing, because sorting out what is and is not overt/covert abuse can be so (purposefully) confusing and tricky when "waking up" to the potentiality of it. So keeping an as-evidenced-by-written accounting of interactions with others allows you to ask yourself questions like: - how do I feel after spending time with this person? how did I feel before we met? during our time together? - how do I physically feel? what is happening in my body, e.g.: I get a terrible headache after spending time with _____, or: I always feel so exhausted after seeing ____. Check in with yourself and remember to ask how you felt before & during time together. - how did the conversations we engaged in make me feel? Energized, excited, understood, heard? Or down, sad, defeated, frustrated? Still one of my favorite ways to eat mangoes - I merely pulsed 6 altaufo mangoes with about 1 pound of grape tomatoes & 3 stalks of green onion - that's it! From his book, et al,: "Traumatic Stress, The Effects of Overwhelming Experience on Mind, Body & Society" #besselvanderkolk -------->>>>> swipe to see β€’ This is a huge distinction, & explains why traditional talk therapy, such as cognitive behavioral approaches, don't work in healing traumatic stress & complex PTSD experiences. β€’ Unfortunately, not all counselors are aware of this huge difference, & can & do unwittingly cause more harm to trauma survivors seeking services - be it in their potential approach, their assigned diagnosis of you (necessary if you are using your insurance), not believing you, (or believing the perpetrator if you are in couples counseling), & via a general & specific lack of knowledge. β€’ If you or anyone you know is now or is ever seeking help in recovering from PTSD, C-PTSD, traumatically stressful occurrence(s) or - if you've not been professionally diagnosed - you or someone you know has experienced or is experiencing psychological, physical, sexual abuse(s), and/or is the victim of childhood molestation, make sure the therapists you are interviewing are all already specifically proficient in psychological abuses, cluster b abuses, trauma bonding, working with the body to heal at a cellular level, etc. Press for details if they say yes, & ask if the have a few referrals you could contact.
