Rain rain go away 🌧
Haaaaave Merci. @bfas_ny
Look and you shall find. Ask and you shall receive. Thank you @kongcompany for the Kong Seconds program! We know what @babylonanimalshelter will be doing with peanut butter today!
Dreamin’ ‘bout last summer when she was drunk as a skunk, passed out top and bottomless at the beach, sand in her hair, don’t care. My college sorority gurl fo eva ❤️ ΔΩΓ #deltaomegagamma
Be wewy wewy quiet. She’s hunting mice. #winterstormgrayson
Who doesn’t love a pair of dogs in pajamas?
There are so many good reasons to teach your dog ‘Show Me Your Belly’ like playing hoops with her mouf flaps 😂
I saw this yard-sign in one of @mommasgonecity’s stories today so I had to find the origin ... all the feels #nwgsdpdx
It’s been over 3 years since I last composed type 🤭
10 minutes squished into 1. It doesn’t look like much but getting here took months and we still have much more to go. Nevertheless I’m excited that nail-trimmings are now low stress for her. #petsbehavingwell #dremel #positivedoghusbandry #pibbleswhonibble
If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote "me too" as their status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem. #metoo I actually found myself thinking about deleting this post because I was afraid it would be perceived as a cry for attention, that what happened to me weren’t big deals... #notokay
PSA for #pitbullawarenessmonth A dog doesn’t necessarily use all the steps. If we miss your dog’s early signals, we risk your dog eventually skipping to the signs that ‘work’, that is, the ones that make the bad thing go away. #alldogsareindividuals #itsbullawareness #repost @iaabcbehavior & @trailblazingtails ・・・ Here is a good reminder of the Aggression Escalation Ladder. It is important that the general public understands that often times aggression is not out of the blue. Often times, animals are trying to communicate ahead of time that they are uncomfortable. Please take their signs into consideration. #iaabc #iaabcbehavior #aggression #dogs #caninebodylanguage #caninecommunication #listentoyourdog ・・・ Aggression rarely happens “out of the blue.” Growling and barking are part of canine communication and often a result of fear. Listen to your dog, they are telling you something.
Going through @catchcaninetrainersacademy reading assignments and she decided to be a case study. She’s reacting to the book hiding / revealing my face.
Some people are bald. Some have full heads of hair. Some have blonde hair. Some have brown hair. Some have red hair. Some are tall. Some are short. Some have almond shaped eyes. Some have round eyes. Some have dark skin. Some have light skin. Some have blue eyes. Some have brown eyes. Some are young. Some are old. Some have short tempers. Some are quiet. Some are friendly. Some would rather be alone. Some like chocolate. Some prefer potato chips. Some are skinny. Some are muscular. Some are athletic. Some are studious. Some scare easy. Some are stubborn. Some are brave. All these different characteristics and yet a single species. The same applies for dogs. A pitbull is a(n) [insert other breed here] with short hair, muscular build, and medium height. They're not the best. They're not vicious. They're jaws don't lock. It's not how they're raised. They're not nanny dogs. They're not the more resilient breed. They do not need a heavy hand to show them who's boss. They do not eat smaller dogs. They're individuals. Humans are individuals. We raise awareness campaigns and protests in hopes that one day humankind learns that groups of people and dogs (especially those we don't personally know) don't fit into imaginary boxes. #itsbullawareness #alldogsareindividuals
This little piggy rolled in 💩 this morning 5 minutes before I had to leave for work. Thank goodness for baby wipes and baking soda. She doesn't know it yet but she's getting a 🛀 tonight. #sorrynotsorry
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to get to." "I don't care much where -" "Then it doesn't matter which way you go."
Learning that ear cleanings are no big deal. Stressing her (and myself) out, chasing her around and holding her down are thankfully a thing of the past. #petsbehavingwell
Want some 🧀 (or seaweed) with that 🍷? 🎻🎼
Hi! This my friend Rudder! #tongueouttuesday 📸: @misteree1
"Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better." #mayaangelou Having a pit bull means dealing with the prejudice and fear of others. Getting a puppy from a breeder means dealing with being shamed and blamed. Advocating the least intrusive, minimally evasive methods of dog training (positive reinforcement, reward-based, force-free) means dealing with deniers, some being more adamant than others. Promoting shelter enrichment ideas means dealing with frustrated and angry people who see you as nothing but a nuisance. Sharing my love for my dog and volunteering and advocating for animal shelter and rescue dogs means dealing with people who assume it means I care more about animals than people. Eating less animals and animal byproducts means dealing with being questioned and laughed at. Having Shea in our family has been a beautiful but sometimes painful experience. For a bunch of people standing on the same side of animal and human rights advocacy, we do a lot of fighting amongst ourselves in the name of claiming who's problem is more serious, who's solution is better and who should get the credit. Through it all Shea has shown me nothing but zeal for the joys life has to offer, kindness for everyone and quickly admitting you're wrong. All the negative experiences have made me realize how emotions can make us such messy humans. Shea is my constant reminder to do better not just towards animals but people, too. She inspires me to keep looking to understand what I don't know. ..... To participate: From now until August 12th @poseidonbrewingco and @rescuestrongsupplyco will each donate $5 per #leveragelove4 post to @dogdayssar. Dog Days Search and Rescue is a non-profit that focuses on helping owners find their lost and missing pets. They also help place animals they find if an owner can't be determined. Rescue Strong will stop at $500 but @poseidonbrewingco has no cap! 1. Make a positive sign about what your pup does for you. 2. Tag @poseidonbrewingco, @rescuestrongsupplyco, and @cjiro in the photo. 3. Write a post about your sign and backstory like the one above and use the hashtag #leveragelove4
PSA for pet parents this 4th of July: Studies have shown that audiobooks / podcasts have a calming effect on dogs. What a great way to drown out the fireworks for my firework-fearing-pup while I get my learn-on listening to one of the most informative episodes of @thisispawprint 🙂 (you don't hear it but I promise - my neighbors are setting off fireworks right now)

She might be a different species but he loves and cares for her fiercely and unapologetically. Happy Father's Day ❤️
Just a handsome 🐶 being a 🐻 . P.S. follow his IG and read about where/what his awesome mom rescued him from http://m.humanesociety.org/news/press_releases/2013/08/alabama-georgia-mississippi-dogfighting-082613.html P.P.S. SO glad I attended the Working With Aggressive Dogs seminar
