Ok, I think it’s time to let Autumn into my feed! 🍂 I am someone who desperately clutches at every last moment of Summer, so I have been resisting 🙈 hope you’ve had a good weekend!
Happy Friday! Here are my last photos of Bateman’s (former home of Rudyard Kipling). I think we just caught the last of the garden before things die back for the Winter. But the allotment was looking so gorgeous and green 😍 This weekend Aaron and I are heading to the Forest of Dean for a mini break that is much needed after an intense week of decorating! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, however you choose to spend it 😘😘
It’s only Tuesday and I’m feeling cold, tired and dusty and I want the house to miraculously become finished, but we are still living in a building site. The peaks and troughs of decorating! My parents did a full renovation on a pretty much dilapidated cottage before I was born and I remember them later saying to me they would never do it again 😂. And in contrast, our place is totally liveable (nice even!), we are just making aesthetic changes. But heck does it take over your life! Have any of you done renovations or decorating? How did you find it/would you do it again? ... Anyway, I’m reminding myself of warm September days in The Courts Garden (pictured) to get me through. 💛🌱
Pardon the double post - I just realised I forgot to add the extra photos 🙈... On yet another rainy day out, welcome to Bateman’s! Former home of Rudyard Kipling (author of The Jungle Book). Here are some photos of the inside - as we spent quite a while hiding from the rain in there. 🌧 Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! We are currently battling major builders dust after having a floor and fireplace sandblasted. It is EVERYWHERE. I had a lot of DMs warning me it would be bad, but it’s so much worse than I ever expected. It looks like it’s snowed in the kitchen, even though we sealed the kitchen off with a dust sheet and tape. Wish us luck with our subsequent cleaning. 😂😅
I have found the greenhouse of my dreams at Arundel Castle 😍🌱 Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend? We are going out for a veggie breakfast and then doing some painting, and hopefully finally sealing the flagstone floor in the living room after what has felt like a lifetime of scraping bitumen from the surface (if you’ve seen my stories you’ll know what I’m talking about) 😅😅😅 So excited to have a living room again!
A cold and grey day but a beautiful garden. Happy Wednesday 😘❤️
How enchanting is the library at Arundel Castle? 😱 We actually visited for the gardens, and I’d not seen photos of the interior before, so it made for quite a surprise. The library was restored in 1992 and includes seating made for Queen Victoria when she visited in 1846. We had to stop for a fair while to take it all in! 😍📚
Aaron and I spent some time in West Sussex at the beginning of the week. I know Kent usually gets crowned as the garden of England but wow Sussex was amazing!! 😍😍😍 I feel like we never have enough time when we go to the South East. Here are some photos of Arundel Castle. I think I’m going to have to share a few posts because one is just not enough. Also love this time of year because the vintage cord dresses can come out of the wardrobe to shine ✨💛 Hope you’ve had a good weekend 😘
It seems like Instagram is keen to throw itself into the depths of Autumn but I am not ready for that just yet! 🌞 Here are some photos from the lovely cobbled streets of Clovelly. Cottages, cobbles and donkeys. What more could you want? ❤️
#ad Time for cake! 🍰 If you follow my stories you’ll know baking has been a hobby of mine for a fair few years. In April I made my dad’s wedding cake which was a special moment. When The National Lottery asked me which food experiences I would try if I won Set For Life it was a pretty straightforward answer from me - I would enroll in a baking school. As I have been teaching myself along the way there is still SO MUCH I want to learn. Set For Life gives you the chance to win the top prize of £10,000 every month for 30 years*. I think I could bake a fair few cakes across that time! Which foodie experiences would you choose? *Rules apply @tnluk #setforlifetnl #amazingstartshere
Happy Sunday! My Instagram posts are now back in England, starting with one of my absolute favourite local gardens, The Courts Garden. I love everything about this place. So many little pockets of gardens to explore, from lily ponds to orchards to formal gardens. We are currently visiting Kent for a few days. Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend! 🌱💚
My last photos from France before we go back to an Autumnal (ish) England. Here is the wonderful view of Chateau de Josselin from the canal and some photos from around Josselin. Sorry I’ve been quiet on here recently, I’ve been poorly this week. But I’m back now and we will be visiting Kent at the end of the week! 😊
