Hip Socket Assessment: one way to assess the anatomy of the hip (McGill method). If you don‘t know how to squat this is a fast way to check what your hips are capable of. Of course there are more ways to skin the cat. I see a lot of athletes who are destroying themselves trying to squat ATG, but haven‘t got the necessary anatomy. Sorensen Test for endurance testing of the lower back: a lot of problems of tight lumbar muscles especially during squatting are because of low endurance of the lower back. Try to hold this position for at least 3 minutes. [Werbung] Use variety in your training and focus on optimal exercise mechanics. Here you see Coach Andy from LiveAwesome doing some Rotating DB presses. Rotate externally for a full stretch of your pecs and internally rotate during the concentric phase. If you want to have a more challenged ROM, keep the dumbbells apart at the end of the concentric phase. A full ROM needs always to be a challenge otherwise it‘s useless. Use „hands on“ during 1:1 Coaching. What I see quite common is Personal Coaches not using their hands while coaching their clients. Especially during complex movements you have to assist them the right way. It‘s the same for spotting your gym buddy. [Werbung] Does it hurt? Certainly not. In the Neuro Athletic Workshop class I use perturbation to improve posture and control. In this case we chose a football specific standing position. The perturbation improves reactive muscle contraction to stay still stable. Try this drill in different sports related positions and focus with your eyes on a fixed spot about eye height right in front of you.
