Weekends are far too short! Last weekend, I was incredibly disappointed that I did not get out on a hike, especially since I had been planning on it for months. Instead, I took Kai on a walk in the park. While this was not what I had in mind it was perfect in its own way. Our veggie haul for the week - isn't it beautiful? While it is not always easy and requires a touch of creativity at times, it is important to consume a variety of veggies. This is because different veggies contain particular nutrients and compounds that are vital for our well-being. For example,  different veggies have been found to target specific types of cancers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are multiple ways to incorporate veggies into your  diet. You can create a cauliflower fried rice with mushrooms, bell peppers, carrots, and onions; build a beautiful spinach salad including roasted sweet potatoes, broccoli, and jicama; or sautee kale, zucchini, and asparagus for all of you green goddesses. (People of the world) Spice up your life ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I incorporate turmeric into my diet on a daily basis. Consuming this gorgeous spice has many benefits and has been shown to: fight inflammation | prevent/treat certain types of cancer | neutralize free radicals (antioxidant) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I either make turmeric/ginger tea (with fresh/whole turmeric and ginger) or add 1/4 teaspoon of ground turmeric to water.
